Tyler Danish was returned to Triple-A Charlotte after his spot start Saturday.

Fantasy Impact

The young right-hander performed well in his first career major-league start, tossing five shutout innings while allowing three hits and six walks against the Tigers. Nonetheless, his stay is a short one and he'll head back to Charlotte, where he has compiled a solid 3.15 ERA over eight starts this season. Look for Danish to be in line for a potential call-up later this season if the need arises.

Brian Johnson was optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket after throwing a complete game shutout Saturday against the Mariners, Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe reports.

Fantasy Impact

Johnson was dominant in his spot start Saturday, fanning eight hitters while not walking a single batter. However, with David Price set for his debut Monday, there simply isn't a spot in the rotation for Johnson at the moment. He'll head back to Triple-A for now, but Saturday's performance will make him a prime candidate for another spot start down the line.

Tyler Danish (1-0) pitched five shutout innings on three hits and six walks while striking out six to earn the win Saturday against the Tigers.

Fantasy Impact

Danish was added as the 26th man to the White Sox roster for Saturday's doubleheader, and despite walking six batters, he kept the Tigers off the board, leading the White Sox to a divisional win. Since he's likely to be sent back to the minors after this game, his next start has yet to be determined.

Jayson Aquino was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday.

Fantasy Impact

Donnie Hart was recalled in a corresponding move Saturday as Aquino heads back to the minors. Aquino did not make any appearances during his most recent call-up and has not made any major league outings since April 28. He'll be on a short list of left-handed options down in the minors should Hart struggle.

Miguel Socolovich was designated for assignment by the Cardinals on Saturday, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.

Fantasy Impact

After struggling to a 8.68 ERA and 1.66 WHIP through 18.2 innings (15 games) with the big club this season, the Cardinals decided to oust Socolovich from their 40-man roster. The move clears room for John Brebbia, who had his contract purchased from Triple-A on Saturday. Given Socolovich's major-league experience, the 30-year-old could draw some interest on waivers.

Peter O'Brien was claimed off waivers by the Rangers on Saturday, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Fantasy Impact

He'll head to Double-A upon arriving to the Rangers organization, though he is expected to be moved to Triple-A later in the week. O'Brien, who had a tremendous spring training with the Royals, has struggled to carry that momentum over into the season and has been designated for assignment twice this year. He hit just .200 with six strikeouts over 24 at-bats during his stint at Triple-A Louisville in the Reds organization.

Daniel Wright was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake City on Saturday, Pedro Moura of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Fantasy Impact

The Angels activated fellow pitcher Michael Morin in a corresponding move Saturday. Wright lasted just 4.0 innings in his most recent outing, allowing five earned runs on eight hits against the Mariners. He'll head back to Salt Lake City and could be a rotation option later in the season if the Angels incur injuries.

William Cuevas was designated for assignment by the Tigers on Saturday.

Fantasy Impact

Cuevas was knocked around in his lone appearance with Detroit in April and the results at Toledo have been middling. The 26-year-old right-hander has posted a 3.87 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, 6.5 K/9 and 3.0 BB/9 in parts of three seasons at the Triple-A level. He will now be subjected to waivers.

Luis Robert's deal with the White Sox became official on Saturday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. He will receive a $26 million signing bonus.

Fantasy Impact

The pact with the White Sox was first reported last weekend, but the signing became official with a press conference Saturday. The 19-year-old outfielder has the potential to be a 65-grade runner with above average power, but it is unclear what kind of hit tool he will bring to the table, as reports on that aspect of his game are mixed. His tools, name value and price tag mean that he will be a prized commodity in dynasty leagues right away. It is unclear where he will be assigned, but he is likely a couple years away from the big leagues.

Chad Bell was optioned to Triple-A Toledo on Saturday.

Fantasy Impact

The Tigers made a handful of roster moves and Bell was sent down as part of the shakeup despite having allowed just three runs on six hits over 10 innings to begin his major-league career. Bell will almost certainly get another chance later in the season, but as a 28-year-old lefty who doesn't have any real standout pitches, there won't be much opportunity for advancement out of the middle innings.

Daniel Mengden is expected to join the big-league rotation next week, likely starting Monday in Cleveland, the San Francisco Chronicle's Susan Slusser reports.

Fantasy Impact

The team will decide Sunday whether or not to put Kendall Graveman (shoulder) on the DL, but that move seems highly likely, as he is expected to miss significant time with this latest shoulder injury. Mengden would be taking Graveman's spot in the rotation, but he could only be around for one start, as Jesse Hahn (triceps) could come off the DL next weekend. Mengden would be able to start Monday on an extra day of rest after tossing seven shutout innings in his last start Tuesday. He has a 2.21 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 20 strikeouts in 20.1 innings this season at Triple-A.

Brian Johnson was recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket and will start for Boston on Saturday.

Fantasy Impact

This will likely be a one-and-done start for Johnson as the Red Sox will activate David Price next week. To make room for Johnson on the roster, the Red Sox optioned reliever Ben Taylor to Pawtucket.

Ben Taylor was optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket on Saturday.

Fantasy Impact

The team's corresponding move was to call up Brian Johnson, who will start Saturday against the Mariners.

Tyler Danish will start the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Tigers, Dan Hayes of CSN Chicago reports.

Fantasy Impact

Danish had been scheduled to start the nightcap of the doubleheader. He will face Detroit's Michael Fulmer.

Destin Hood went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Triple-A New Orleans' loss to Colorado Springs on Friday.

Fantasy Impact

He's homered in all four games of the Baby Cakes' road series against the Sky Sox, but Hood has been hammering the ball closer to sea level as well and now has seven homers and 14 RBI in his last nine games. The 27-year-old has a .266/.347/.544 slash line through 46 games at Triple-A this season with 13 home runs and 36 RBI, and if the Marlins are sellers heading into this year's trade deadline, Hood could find himself with a starting job in the majors towards the end of 2017.

Blake Swihart (finger) was activated off the 7-day minor league disabled list and went 0-for-5 with a walk and two strikeouts for Triple-A Pawtucket on Friday.

Fantasy Impact

Swihart was a sneaky candidate to emerge as Boston's primary catcher given that he's a better hitter than either Sandy Leon or Christian Vazquez, but those two have held their own at the plate through the first quarter of the season. The finger injury sets back Swihart some but he'll continue to hone the defensive aspects of his game for the PawSox while looking to improve upon his .189/.241/.340 slash line.

Seranthony Dominguez had an MRI on his shoulder recently which came back clean, Ryan Lawrence of the Philly Voice reports.

Fantasy Impact

Dominguez left his last start at High-A Clearwater after experiencing shoulder soreness. The Phillies don't have a timeline yet for when he will start his rehab process, but are optimistic he can be back on the mound later this summer. The 22-year-old was off to a fantastic start at Clearwater with a 2.02 ERA and a 45:13 K:BB in 35.2 innings.

Jesmuel Valentin had season-ending surgery on his left shoulder Friday, Jim Salisbury of CSN Philadelphia reports.

Fantasy Impact

Valentin will need four to five months of recovery before he can return to the field. He will likely play winter ball in his native Puerto Rico to make up for the lost at-bats this season.

Daniel Mengden is 2-1 with a 2.21 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and .189 BAA over four starts with Triple-A Nashville.

Fantasy Impact

The 24-year-old right-hander has been particularly effective in his last two starts, allowing just one earned run on seven hits over 13 innings while also compiling 12 strikeouts. Mengden is projected to remain with the Sounds for the moment, although if Jesse Hahn (triceps) and Kendall Graveman (shoulder) both land on the disabled list as expected, he could be in line for a call-up.

Blake Snell fired 112 pitches and racked up nine strikeouts over 6.2 innings in a start for Triple-A Durham on Friday, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Fantasy Impact

The young southpaw also gave up four earned runs on five hits and four walks, experiencing some of the control problems that led to his demotion in the first place. Snell is 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA and 21:6 K:BB over 11.2 innings across two starts with the Bulls. He's likely due for several more appearances in the minors at a minimum, as the Rays would like to see him put together a stretch of outings during which he locates the ball consistently.
